Y’all Be Blessed!
“May you Fall in love with October and all the beauty it brings, May your life be as colorful as the turning of the leaves, On each blessed autumn day."
~Charmaine J. Forde
October is here! Which means I am starting my third month with you all!
I’ve always loved Octobers (much more than Septembers if I’m honest) and I am looking forward to October in a new place for me! October brings the promise of changing leaves, cooler temperatures, and fuzzy sweaters!
So far in our three months together we have had promising times! One of the highlights for me was our retreat!
Let me thank you all for the support we had at our charge conference! I know it was early this year, but outside of the audit, we are technically done! Isn’t it refreshing to know that we can spend October, November, and December on worshipping and working together to build God’s Kin-dom without that dreaded charge conference looming and lurking?
We elected all of our leaders (which pretty much stay the same!) And we have a new Lay Leader! I want to say a special thank you for Carmen Caporale stepping up to take over in that role. I also want to say a special thank you to Duana for all the hard work she did for both North Mason and Brownsville charge conferences.
October is a full month!
On October 6th, we will celebrate World Communion Sunday. Please come that day with something you may have gotten or received from an international trip. If you haven’t been on an international trip, bring something that reminds you of another country or region in the world. We will be putting these items in the chancel and on the altar in celebration of World Communion Sunday. We will also be taking up a special offering on that Sunday.
Later on in October, we will also be starting our Stewardship Drive as we prepare to set the budget for 2018!
Finally, on October 26, 2018, we will be having a movie night here at the church. We will be watching COCO and having a great time together! More information will be forthcoming about this event!
Thank you all for all you do.
