Loving and Serving Our God by Loving and Serving All People
Loving Love is the center of Jesus' teaching. "'You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul and with all your mind' This is the greatest and first commandment. And a second is like it: 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' On these two commandments hang all of the law and the prophets." (Matthew 22:37-40) We hold these instructions at the foundation of how we live as followers of Jesus' teaching.
Serving Love is a verb. It leads us into action. Responding to God's love leads us to value the needs of others and not focus exclusively on ourselves. The humble act of service unites us into fellowship that reflects God's love.
Our We recognize our connection with the divine. We seek relationship with God. We belong to God, and God is ours to know.
God God is too big to be defined in a space such as this, which is why we constantly seek spiritual connections that draw us closer to God and each other.
All All means all. God's love is for everyone and so our love and service recognizes no limitations and boundaries.
People We are all people. Each of us is a person, which means we all have God given potential. Similarly, each of us has fallen short of that divine potential. Regardless, all of us are still loved by God and loved and served by this community we call North Mason United Methodist Church.
This is our way of living into our United Methodist denomination's mission:
To make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.
